Silence at Porty bus stops

What do people make of this then? For me its quite scary that we are heading full on towards a "fear society".

I know what you mean. If anyone of either/any sex speaks to someone in such a situation and gets no response or a fearful one, all it needs is a "sorry to bother you" expression and perhaps a move a few feet away from that person.

It's just as disturbing to have a totally silent "companion" at an isolated bus-stop, in my experience.
