A last-minute goal yesterday propelled my hometown team, Gretna FC to the Scottish Premier League. Tough on St Johnstone who had clawed back a 12 point deficit only to miss out in the last minute of the season but that is the stuff that fairytales are made of. And having a multi-millionaire, philanthropist owner helps as well of course.
From the BBC:
Gretna fairytale continues

Tsk, I thought this was a thread about starcrossed lovers from Portobello and Joppa, running away to Gretna to marry without prejudice

Gutted for Saints really. A genuine football club with a loyal fanbase as opposed to a husk purchased by a millionaire and with a trickle of fans.
