Telferton allotment farmer's market?

Post by rapunzell » 16 Apr 2007, 16:13

Do the allotment folk have a mini farmer's market in Porty? I half remember something with blue potatoes on the prom last summer, but am not at all sure if it was an allotment thing. I'd love to buy some local produce (except lettuce) :D TalkPorty beans? Porty plums?

There's no mini Farmers' Market Rapunzell, though at the Public meeting held by the CC the proposal received some support

I think the event you are recalling will be PEDAL's (Portobello Energy Descent and Land Reform Group) local food event , which was caught on film for Portobelly Telly.

I hope they have another one this year. I missed the chance to donate my excess lettuce to the stall last year. Have planted less this year :D

I'll just have to make do with the produce of this little trio of gardens for now, and hope for an improvement on last year's crop of fourteen blackberries, one kilo of tatties and two hundred lettuce  At least we now have rosemary (thanks to SoupD!) and optimistic basil.
