B&Bs in Portobello

Post by Nelson Hatstand » 28 Feb 2007, 17:34

Anyone know of any good B&B/hotel type places in Porty? Got some people staying at the weekend and there ain't enough room in Hatstand House.

Gillian Glover off of the Evening News has got a B&B - it's really nice.

When Beach Babe and I were getting married, we had friends coming over from Germany, and Gillian's front man was happy to take a booking from me on their behalf (you can imagine how busy we were at the time!) - only when he found out they had a baby, we got the bum's rush.

Gillian Glover hates babies and won't let people with them stay in her B&B!

The guy was quite open about it. We had to find somewhere else.

Call me fickle, but my opinion of La Glover changed for the expletively worse due to that incident.

Ardgarth is a good one, it's on St Mary's Place. The one at 33 Straiton Place has sea view rooms but its more yer cheap and cheerful backpacker-traveller type of thing.

I used Joppa Turrets B&B for 3 friends who had come up for the rugby. They said it was spot on but one was a Geordie and the other 2 Norwegian! 8)

I'd recommend Ardgarth too NH. We had friends from England stayed there and still go on about what a great person Ursula is!
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. They're going to stay at 'The Portobello Apartment' which was on Bob's business directory.
