My new car

I've finally bitten the bullet. I bought my Espace 9 years ago when it was 4 years old and decided that it was time to buy a new one. It's 18 months old

Thanks. It was very embarrassing when I took the family for a spin last night for the first time. It doesn't have a handbrake like normal cars and I thought that it was the clutch that released it. However, there is a lever on the dashboard and I managed to figure out how that worked. Anyway, I went down the driveway into the middle of the road and found that I couldn't move. It was 5.30pm and people were coming home from work. I pressed the accelerator and the engine wouldn't rev. Eventually it dawned on me that I was pressing the foot brake

I've since discovered that it is the accelerator pedal that releases the handbrake.

Happy new car Scorpion.

We've got a Renault Grand Scenic and know what you mean about the dash mounted brake. Once you get used to it though it's great - really makes hill starts a dawdle.

Well, no, but I did check before I took the ****, and dawdle is "to move slowly" and doodle is "something v easily accomplished". So there
