Having had several conversations with people, the majority of whom are a similar age to me (47). It seems that many people are becoming less than enthusiastic about sending cards. They think its too much hassle, pretty meaningless and/or a bit outdated, given that cards hailed from a time when hardly anyone had phones let alone, email, msn and bebo.

This year I sent more than i ever have.

Are christmas cards passe?

Seems I'm about the same age as you , Porty, and I sent out more cards than ever.
And emails, and texts.
Now this may be in part due to a death in the family and we're feeling closer, but the cards were sent out before hand so it could be now we expect a card, a text and an email from friends/ relatives.

Goodness Gracious at this rate they'll expect us to turn up in person!

Sure we had a debate about this last year and I explained about my Aunty Helen and her direct responsibility to me not sending any cards last year. I decided that it was so liberating that I didn't do any this year either :lol: . My husband of course thinks I am a total scrooge so he sent some - to his family and friends, and of course made such a meal of the whole thing that I am now firmly committed to never sending another Xmas card ever. In fact, I might even not do birthdays either this year :twisted: .
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Mr. Arachnid sends most of the Christmas cards! :lol:
I find it's a good way of keeping in touch with the people that you only keep in touch with at this time of year!!! :lol: :reindeer:
And let them know that we're still around!!! :wink:

Hmm, I do feel a bit guilty though. What about the friends and neighbours who sent me cards? Maybe they will think they are not on my list this year? I wonder if Gilo has the answer?

I agree Arachnid, on some I even write a personal message. I have also sent e-christmas cards this year too.
