I'm not sure how this became an issue. But, I AM a real person, with NO ties to anyone on this board. But, I can't be bothered with it anymore.

I liked this board. I enjoyed contributing and I was having fun.

But certain people have been sucking that joy out now for too long. First an amazing attack I don't think I deserved from Ali. Then others weighing in with opinions that I am somehow "not real" ... and an invention of one or more other posters.

Obviously my assurances aren't enough for anyone here. Don't bother checking my IP or ISP or whatever. If I can't (and I wouldn't) ask for another member's ... then I don't see why mine should be disclosed.

I request that admin do not pass any information about me, openly or otherwise on the board ... because really ... it's no-one's damn business unless I make it so.

I know some of you enjoyed the quizzes, but I'll step back now and let Dadaist take over that function to himself again.

I'm off. I don't need the carry-on. I'm sure Ali will be happy I'm quitting the board!

Cleopas, please be assured that we will not be disclosing your IP address or any other personal information to anyone. Not now, not ever.

We have strict rules about multiple identities and we enforce them. If you want to remain an enigma, then that is your perogative.

The thing about POL is that we are a broad church. We can accomodate Porty, Dadaist, ali, Hatstand AND you quite happily. Like any community, we sometimes fall out and no family Xmas is complete without a row.

So ali is sometimes grumpy and Hatstand is erm, confused. We're all individuals and none more so than you.

Stick around. I think you're real. More real than Santa Claus or God anyway.

What a fuss about absolutely nothing. Cleopas is a bit of an enigma, only Izzie appears to know "him" in real life, he is a regular and prolific poster so there is naturally a degree of curiousity.

I have never thought he was a double ID and I happen to think that keeping up a charade for 1200+ posts is a very tough detail, too tough in fact.

I think Cleopas got a bit miffed by the teasing about double id and over- reacted. Can't be fun having your birthday hi jacked by most of the Western World so he's bound to be a bit grumpy.
