What's the significance of your username?

I can't recall if we have done this one before and I guess its not exactly inclusive for the likes of Tom Nimmo and Sandra but what does your name signify?

And who would like to take a guess at why I picked mine, which is not as obviousl as you may think.

I joined after my good friend arachnid (who keeps spiders) and thought it would be a good idea to use a name to do with snakes (I have a corn snake) and as I am also a fan of the Kill Bill movies Hubbie suggested Black Mamba the name of the main character and of course a cool snake.

I was originally registered as Maria, but encountered logging in problems and had to re-register using a different user name. I'm half Polish so chose the spelling of the name that my Dad used for me.

I think that Porty meant to call himself Potty, but was 'tired and emotional' when he registered and misspelt it.

I used to be called Gilo by my family when I was growing up. The name has very good memories for me. I don't get called it now I'm a big boy, so this forum presented me with the chance to resurrect it.

Well done on 5000. I particularly appreciate your efforts on the schools thread. There has been a lot of name calling against you, and I'm sure it has come at some personal cost. I think you've stayed to the issues, even if this has been done quite "passionately". What seperates you is that you have no personal gain from this unlike the rest of us, be us NIMBY's or parents.

As Black Mamba" said, I decided to use " arachnid" as my user name seeing as I have a couple of big hairy spiders!!!

It's not my real name. I'm just pretending to be him to get him into trouble. Can someone please explain why Bob is asking people if they will go to bed with him this evening? In the unlikely chance that he gets lucky I woould certainly think he is abusing his position as administrator. Smacks a bit of desperation to me.

My handle's because when I was at high school I used to stare at the screen for several minutes before starting to type away furiously. Someone said it looked like a star exploding. Hence novastar. Also known as Beaker because of a resemblance but prefer Nova. Same name I use on games, forums and when doing other computery things.

In regards to finding out about this place (which a few other people have brought up), I work with Zarg and he mentioned it one day. Have no link with porty apart from I drink in the forresters quite a bit and shop in get creative an awful lot.

I'm 12, maybe 13 and it's around 71/72. Note the round-collared, purple shirt, multi-coloured tank top (Binns), flared denims, pink socks and platform shoes. The denim jacket is accessorised with press-stud silver stars. I imagine I am the epitome of cool. My mother is worried about me. She still worries.
