If you're thinking "just another wednesday" or "same old same old" or if you're not really thinking at all but just sleep walking through the day then

stop and think again.
look at yourself in the mirror long and hard.
listen to the rhythm of life, bdoom bdoom bdoom.

Now start again. You could pretend you've just done a 10 year stretch in solitary or you're going to face a firing squad at midnight, that should help alter your outlook,

Not recently Foxy, but aren't those courses a hoot. We had a flyer round to our work recently sometning about "think different be different". Naturely it was oversubscribed within about 20 minutes with folk looking for a nice day out. And have you seen how much those trainers/life coaches charge? I could do that!

My workplace has courses, training, and a list of corporate bodies you wouldn't believe. I attend nothing with the exception of giving blood - but Gilo is right - you could get a hundred free lunches if you wanted.

I've no doubt that some of them are worthwhile and beneficial - and that some of the training opportunities are worth the paper they are written on - but it's a wheat and chaff thing.

The freebies as well are another thing - this whole industry of corporate logo items from sewing kits to shoe shiners.

I wonder, with some of these things, if the people involved actually believe in it - which would be scary - or have just found a way to make a living, which I guess is forgivable.

Do you envisage ever doing any sort of personal development training to better engage with the rest of the race?

I didn't drop it - but I'm glad you mentioned it - I was sure it used to be Dadaist. It probably happened by accident when they re-enabled my account.

I meant to tease you in a sort of jokey fashion in the context of your non-attendance on training or development courses. This may have been clear to other members of the race.

I was at a PA Exchange event tonight - something that anyone of you could enjoy - regardless that you are a secetary/pa - anyone can join - individual/small business etc.

And guys do go - there were two in my team building exercise -

We got a example audience, a product and a video camera and free range of the George Hotel! Not my thing, but a lot of laughs and definitely some people bonding for next PA Event.

Drinks and food complimentary and business contacts. Charge to join, but very much worth it.
