I'm trying to find the lyrics for the parody of Magic Moments.

The words are something like ...

I'll never forget the smell of her sweat
From under her oxters
It wasn't the gas that smelled ........
It was her boxers ...

... and that's all I know, though I'm not sure if those were even the right words I recall.

Can anyone help please???

I DO know it was Bill Barclay used to sing ...

But I don't know any more than that! I was a kid who probably shouldn't have heard ANY of these songs ... but I did. I just can't recall all the words.

Mind you ... Bill Barclay did my favourite version of 12 Days of Christmas ... as he gets drunker and drunker(er)! Pure Genius!

I like funny songs.

My apologies. I just assumed it was an adult forum, since there doesn't appear to be any specifically young contributors posting.

To be honest, I find your editing difficult to comprehend as I was brought up to dislike any form of censorship. Everything in my home was up for open and frank discussion within my family, even the merits of swearing, and tolerance on what we kids viewed or read as "normal". And I mean everything.

So, I grew up with an open mind and high tolerance since very young and therefore never could understand this "forbidden to kids" approach.

Personally, I find child abuse, child poverty, child neglect and child censorship amongst the worst crimes committed against children every day. You should read RD Laing's views on how we cripple the child from birth in Western society.

However, my kids will always see what they want to see and I'll patiently sit and explain to them from both sides of this divide. That's my way, as taught by my parents and grandparents, old hippies that they were. Maybe our way is just out of fashion?

But, these are your community forum rules and I have to respect them since I imagine they were thought up democratically. I was never a big fan of someone "democratically" doing my thinking or making up rules for me or mine.

Ah well, that would appear to put the kibosh on my adult-themed place-name quiz then, wouldn't it?

We do have younger posters from time to time though they tend not to hang around very long, which is a pity. They probably find it a bit boring truth be told.

You are not the first to criticise some of our rules, but they are pretty standard ones you'll find on most Forums.

Trouble is ... one you institute rules they can become as enshrined as a religious belief system, therefore never questioned. Nothing should be set in stone in my opinion.

Once you make something forbidden to a child, you'd be as well putting brightly coloured flashing lights round it, cover it in sparkly glitter and write "Treasure In Here!" on it, since you've just turned it into Aladdin's Cave. My freind's young son, who I took to see "Superman" a few weeks ago, showed me how he circumvents parental controls. I was stunned ... but not surprised. If they want in ... they'll find a way! Curiosity is a very powerful human drive!

Frankly, there's no substitute for open discussion, leading to understanding.

What makes you think we haven't, Cleopas?! No need to patronise, dear...

I would echo Marya's comments; whilst it sounds like your people had a liberal aproach to things, not everyone does, and not everyone is happy for their children to be exposed to certain kinds of language, or other things. As has been said, we are a community forum, here for the local community, not just those of a certain age and view. We know Gilo's son reads the forum over Gilo's shoulder, since he wanted to know if Foxy is foxy! We know the rules can be frustrating - even to us at times (I mean, you wouldn't believe the number of times I have a burning need to talk about that lovely place near Skegness

)- but they are there for a reason.

And BB ... I certainly wasn't being patronising. I was merely pointing out a book I had read in my studies and would recommend to anyone who wants to be a parent.

I don't know that my family were liberal, just more open to trying to understand the vagaries of human nature.
