Scary Films
I'm finding I can't watch scary films any more. I just tried to sit through The Descent and found I could hardly come out from under the covers. If there is something moderately jumpy at the cinema, I find I either shout out loud or recoil into fetal position. It's really annoying and totally uncool. It didn't used to be like this. Am I getting old? Has anyone else experienced this?
I wish I did Gilo, I love a good scary film and I haven't seen one for ages and ages (I hardly ever go to the cinema and never rent DVD's just borrow daughters so it's hardly surprising) Whenever one is recommended though I seem to be disappointed with it, including The Descent, I didn't find it scary. I'm still open to suggestions though, there must be some good ones out there that I haven't seen.

The only horror movie that EVER made me jump in the cinema was the old Ray Milland chestnut .... Premature Burial ...
... which I saw at an all-nighter at the old Odeon (S Clerk Street) when I was but a stripling of 16, lying about my age cos you had to be 18 to get in back then.
I love horror movies ... Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy, Historical, madcap comedy ... one look at my DVD and vid collection shows you where I'm at ... with the odd chick-flick for obvious reasons!!
Have to say that even films like Final Destination 1/2/3 didn't make me jump. Descent, Grudge, The Hole, The Ring blaah blaah blaah ... nope ...
I guess I'm waiting on the one that'll bring on the fatal heart attack to really enjoy it!

I'm like you Teddygirl, don't know when I was last at the cinema, a very long time ago!!!!teddygirl wrote:I wish I did Gilo, I love a good scary film and I haven't seen one for ages and ages (I hardly ever go to the cinema and never rent DVD's just borrow daughters so it's hardly surprising) Whenever one is recommended though I seem to be disappointed with it, including The Descent, I didn't find it scary.
