About time - they've had pubwatch in my hometown for well over a decade.

Yeah, it might be new to Portobello but Pubwatch and Shopwatch schemes have been around on both a formal and informal basis for a long time. It's just commonsense really - sharing information and cooperating to mutual benefit.
