Hay Fever
Re: Hay Fever
BC should get himself to a pharmacy - Allans or Kidds as they do complementary remedies as well as conventional stuff!Sandra wrote:Anyone got any cures for Hay Fever - BC has a bad dose, almost as bad as "man flu".
I agree with Poppy!
Anti-histamines are the way to treat it - clarityn, or piriton, things like that. You can buy them cheaper in Semi-chem, but it may take a few to work out which one suits him best. Clarityn's (generic name Loratadine) non-drowsy.

All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

Ginger
Ginger is supposed to be a natural antihistamine. Ginger tea usually does the trick. Make your own with root ginger or you can buy sachets of granules from the chinese supermarket near the foot of Leith Walk,
(or if you're feeling flush twinings do lemon and ginger tea bags).

Ha! Spent my teenage summers in a haze with that stuff!Bellybabe wrote:piriton
Benadryl is quite good at treating allergies once they started and you can take 3 a day - others tend to be once a day preventatives.
Also. avoid going outdoors and keep windows shut in early evening as pollen worst then. And shower/wash hair to get pollen out after being outside. Don't put washing on line in backgreen either!!!!!!!!!
