So, what's your views on the 'new' Deli? I have been in a few times. I was expecting some changes and there has been, fresh pasta and ready made sandwiches being just two of them. It's not a dramatic change, don't really think it needed one but the new owners seem very pleasant and helpful. I like the way they have repositioned the outdoor tables, makes more of a statement and improves the look of the vicinity.

Not used it yet, but hopefully staff will now serve customers rather than making you wait for ages (while they file their nails or something) rather than serve them.

Tables outside definitely look good

Talking about "under new ownership", noticed on the 26 into work today that the 'Bronx Cafe', at the top of Leith Walk, has closed down. Going to be replaced by some chain (apparently 87 stores "Worldwide"

) called Kebabish

Now, I'm not saying it was the epitome of fine cuisine.......but I'm going to miss the Bronx. Had a few breakfasts in there while waiting to do car booty's at the Greenside, and it had a greasy-spoon charm that seems to be disappearing these days.

Quite partial to the odd greasy spoon myself - but I cannot include the Bronx in this category - it was the pits.

Sorry to hear this was your lasting memory of the deli under my ownership. I think with me not being there for a few months toward the end because of problems with my back there maybe wasn't the guidance for the staff that you were used to. Hopefully there are more fond memories of the active participation in community events and issues, the summer jazz bands outside, and the introduction of the widest range of qaulity farmhouse cheeses on the East coast.

As you can see, I still feel passionate for the place. It holds very happy memories for me. The new owners I'm sure will rise to the challenge and put the deli back on top.

Anyone for a late evening latte? Kitcheners is now open until 8 pm from Tuesday to Saturday. They also now have a table licence, so you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your meal. How civilised!

What do you think the bill came to?

Hmmm, that's one pot of tea, one ginger beer, one cappucino, one caramel chocolate shortbread type thingy, don't think Epykat's got a cake, so that should bring the bill down to... Â£24.50?

If you look to the right you will see the remnants of Bob's millionaire's shortbread - we halved it (how virtuous). Bill not too bad (I know because I paid

). Missing out the ginger beer wot Bob had already bought himself it came to less than a fiver (he's a very cheap date

). As for POPs comment re wine - as we all know on here, I would never be seen drinking alcohol during the day in public...........

This was an incredible treat to dine upon, J.P. I've been an avid gardener for more years than I wish to disclose.

I bequeath myself to the amour of flowers. I'm barefoot and without gloves when tending to them. The roses are rascals. Yesterday, I pulled out baby thorns from my toes. My favorite is a beautifully scented red Gaelic rose.

Let your imagination ride on this...I wrote a poem about my garden years ago, â€œUrinating in Figurine Alley".

May you and everyone else have a truly wonderful weekend. I'm off to hunt for seashells with digital camera in hand and bask in the sun~

Anyone going to the Whisky Tasting tomorrow night? Starts at 8 pm.

One of the team from Jon, Mark & Robboâ€™s Easy Drinking Whisky Co. will be doing a tasting session including various smelling games to determine which whisky suits you best. In addition to lots of Green & Blacks chocolate to taste, a deli buffet is included in the price. All for an amazing Â£8!!!
