edit -> removed unnecessary word "poll" from title
Sorry for being thick Dadaist, but how does one vote? :?

Unless there's some sort of problem with your browser - you should have a choice of "yes" or "no" at the top of your screen - make sure the black dot is in the correct circle and then click the "submit" button which should be beneath them. If you've not voted yet - you should see those choices and the button at the top of this page.

Once you've voted you'll see the results. Your vote is anonymous, and you can only vote once per identity/login.

Ahh. When you're logged off what do you see - the results? or nothing?

That's interesting that you can see the results without having voted by just logging off - never knew that!

I'm always auto-logged in and until now I always thought that you weren't allowed to see the results until after you voted.

Don't worry. It's a secret ballot. Just make sure all your family members vote Mr McIntyre!

Confidentiality was not my concern. I just wanted to note that I had not abused my voting privileges by voting twice. 8)

You have to be a registered member to vote and members can only vote once. Your IP address may change but your username and password do not. Clearly, if a member such as Stephen has more than one identity then the opportunity exists for him to vote more than once and we just have to take his word that he hasn't. This in itself is a very good argument for not allowing multiple identities.

I have voted once. I do not have any other active account. Admittedly, I have access to several 'admin' usernames and passwords which I could use to vote with if I wished. I have not done so and have no intention of doing so.

In any case, I doubt that the number of people who are likely to vote will be statistically significant. I would like to think that the best proposal and the strongest argument will win the day, in which case I think we can look forward to new schools within the next 10 years.

To be honest I could if I wanted have a peek into the forum database and see who voted for what, and if "one person" voted twice under two ids etc...

Of course I'd have to have the time, and the inclination... And anyone else who wanted to do it would have to have admin access (to the web host site, not the forum) and SQL know-how.

It's the same situation as with private messages.

(and folks, don't think your emails are safe either)
