How did Gemini know about the same IP addresses BTW?

That's what I'm getting at. The source is unreliable. We already know that the same IP address does not necc mean the same user. I'm pretty sure PoP and I share IP address during the day. Gemini doesn't have access to the data and even if she did she could not be sure.

Thanks BB.

Gemini can confirm or protect her source as she desires - I don't know who she got that info from (but I have a strong suspicion).

However, having outlined the legal status of simply saying that 2 posts come from one computer I am happy to confirm that, from what I saw when I was a mod - Gemini is correct.

Qui est Moi?

Je ne sais pas.

Mais je rise un peu.

Je pense 'ho ho ho', seulement.

Je ne dit pas 'qui est Moi?'; je dit seulement 'ah, c'est une bonne poste'

Now that Gemini has let the cat out of the bag, she must be feeling like the cat that got the cream - but there's more than one way to skin a cat. I know that Moi isn't a scaredy cat, even if the cat has been set amongst the pigeons and this play has happened while the cat was away. Hopefully now that this game of cat and mouse is over, Moi will not be like a cat on a hot tin roof and be tempted to fight like cat and dog, but will roll over and purr - but we still have to wait and see which way the cat jumps. I hope, though, that the cat hasn't got Moi's tongue.

IMO, the moderator who invited the poster to post this

I took the decision to post the topic. I was not invited to do so by a moderator or by anyone else.

FFS will somebody explain to me what is going on in this thread??

Porty - where do these quotes in your first post come from??

G & TT?? what's that then??

Has "Moi" been outed??

Is it Bob?? What's GK the deli man got to do with it???

All I can say is that if I'd been Moi I'd have been quite proud. It was a classic and elegantly mocked the pretentious guff that appeared in the "re-a-pier" thread.

The quotes started in the high school thread.
Gossip and Tittle Tattle.
Moi has apparently been outed by Gemini as Bob. I doubted it because of the outstanding post that Moi made. Probably the best POL ridicule of all time.

Dada says he is sure its Bob.

GK used to run Tigger Rules Deli in the high street but he sold it cos he is expecting turnover to take a nose dive when the new organic forth estuary seafood deli opens on the pier.

I'll try! :?

1. Dadaist went off at a tangent in the 'new PHS' thread.
2. Porty started a new thread on here and copied some of their posts across.
3. Porty asked the Mods to move the other posts across.
4. We've temporarily lost our facility to move posts within Forums so BB did her best cut'n'paste job.
5. The old posts on the other thread are now deleted.

There clear as mud isn't it?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you who were not at last weekend's "Imagine Portobello" event, here is information about a bid that is being put together for lottery funding to build a new pier for Portobello.

Re-aPier – The Forth's Gateway to the Sea

An idea for the Big Lottery Living Landmarks project

This proposal is put forward by the community of Portobello on the shore of the City of Edinburgh with partners still to be agreeed.

The proposal will address the need for the sustainable development of the Forth Estuary Coastal Region – the Firth of Forth; for a recasting of the relationship between the people of Edinburgh and their coastal environment; and for the regeneration of the sea side economy of Portobello.

.The proposal envisages the development of a substantial structure, (working title ‘Re-aPier') located in a high profile position off the shoreline of Portobello, Edinburgh's beach and linked to the shore by a walkway or pier. Together with the existing, on shore urban landscape, this structure will constitute a new ‘gateway' between Edinburgh and its coastal and marine environment. Re-aPier is intended as a catalyst for other developments that we hope will see the gateway linked to the city by a combination of an urban walkway and a ‘corridor' of artistic elements that delineate the 3k route from the city to the shore.

Re-aPier will house:

Scientific and development agencies concerned with the sustainable development (social, economic and environmental) of the Firth of Forth.
Educational activities enabling virtual access for the public to an interactive experience of the underwater world of the Firth of Forth, its history, geology, fauna and flora etc. with an emphasis on its interconnectedness with other marine environments and living systems.
An embarkation point for tours of the Firth and journeys to other coastal settlements and attractions.

Artistic elements, including gallery and performance spaces, celebrating the inter relationships of the marine, coastal and urban environments of the Firth of Forth, together with their diverse human populations.
Tourist services in the form of a visitor centre for the township of Portobello and its beach, incorporating a local museum and a range of provisions designed to encourage and support people to explore the coastal and marine environment of Scotland.

Informal recreational opportunities in the form of walkways and social spaces.

Catering and retailing provision.

Re-aPier will use cutting edge marine engineering and design technologies to create a sustainable ‘man made island' or ‘end of pier' presence (crannog?) in a site that is clearly visible and attractive from the main transport route from the city and along the coast of much of the Firth of Forth. 'The design will seek to have minimal impact on the environment in the use of resources both in terms of the construction phase and the ongoing operation of the facility. The structure will become a new signifier of the City of Edinburgh that can be seen by visitors who arrive or leave by air, train or sea.

We believe that the proposal will be welcomed by the township of Portobello because:

It offers increased economic potential through a redefining of the relationship between the township and the City of Edinburgh.
It creates opportunity for aspects of the proposal, such as hotel and catering services, to be developed as social enterprises to benefit local people.
It enables the community to have a significant influence on the impending development of the western end of the township and to link the developments by the means of an urban walkway.
It enables the community to develop its character as a focus for artistic and creative activity.
It will provide the community with an asset that it can steward for the wider benefit of the community.

We believe that the proposal will be welcomed by the City of Edinburgh because:

It contributes to the long term rebranding of Edinburgh as a Waterfront City
It enables Edinburgh to capitalise on its underused asset of a city beach
It contributes to the city's profile as a model for sustainable development and demonstrates the vitality of its communities.

We believe that the proposal will be welcomed by the wider Forth Estuary Coastal Region because:

It will serve as a regional hub for social, economic and environmental development.
It will increase visitor and resident awareness of the value of the coastal and marine environment
It will provide a model of excellence as a partnership approach to regional development.

We intend to put an application to the Big Lottery Fund in January 2006. If we are successful at this stage , we will receive up to £250,000.00 for public consultation, technical development and the development of an appropriate management structure. If the second stage of the development work is successful, we could access between £10M and £25M to make our ideas a reality.

‘Dis-aPier (signifying nothing)' is the working title for the most audacious concept to emerge from the recent grant-aided ‘Pretend Portobello' community workshop and après-vol au vent analysis . Employing state of the art holographic technology, this will truly be a virtual wonder of the modern world to enthral the 21st Century and beyond.

"If you can imagine a giant white elephant dressed in the emperor's new clothes that is initially projected to cost £10m but escalates to the price of a new Forth Estuary Secondary School before finally imploding due to the infinite weight of its own pretentiousness and disappearing up its own black hole then you are on the right track" explains one of the many diverse coastal humans involved in the vision.

"The whole thing actually costs about two hundred quid (plus several million pounds in consultation fees and feasibility studies) and we blow the rest on a big arty party for the usual suspects."

Almost certain to succeed then?

That is exactly why so many people are asking for option appraisal, to satisfy themselves that this seemingly drastic option is thye only way to go.
So that will be a no then.

BTW take a look back at your posts and point out where YOU ask for an option appraisal. Think you must be getting your identities mixed up.

Somebody could read this and assume that this was your way of telling us that Rex_Mundi, Portobellosite and Keir Hardie are using the same machine - and are more than likely all the same person.

If that's true, it's a real shame for everyone - but then if the headmaster condones something you can't really blame the pupils for doing it too.

Dear Dada,

I think in the never ending quest to find out who everyone is, someone has been peeking at IP addresses or passwords or something along those lines.

If thats the case its probably one of the administrators or someone who bought a program which identifies/produces false/masks IP addresses. (£200 on amazon)

In either case these things should be and are usually left to the administrators to stop people posting vulgarities and the likes.

Its very easy to jump on that bandwagon to guess who is who.

I heard someone at the primary school this morning saying for instance that Porty and Mr M. may be the same person.

Who cares. If Porty or Mr M want to have multiple personalities thats their beef.

What do you think?

Intimidation

Post by Keir Hardie » 16 Mar 2006, 23:03

In response to the suggestion that I am an alias for Portobellosite or Rex Mundi, I am not. Since registering with the forum on 8th March I have made 12 posts under my user name, and none under any other user name. This will be my 13th post, and my last, because I think there is bullying and intimidation going on here and I want nothing further to do with it.

I agree with Keir Hardie 100%, there is a lot of on line bullying in this thread, and in my opinion a lot of it comes from one member, who shall remain nameless at the moment, enough to say i was/ am offended by this member myself and have sent him a E Mail to explain why. But yes i agree with Keir.

Bullying is not even for the playground anymore, and should be eradicated everywhere..... but will it ........no........why.......because adults can't set a good enough example from our children to learn from........
To be a good liar you need a good memory !
