PoP and I are looking forward to 11am this morning when we have a visit from a marketing company. They are going to try and persuade us to advertise on Dragon Way's new menu.
As part of the deal, Dragon Way give advertisers free food up to the value of the advert.
Now we almost always blow cold telephone callers out at the first stage but yesterday PoP said to the woman "hang on, i will speak to the fat one and see if he is interested" I think she was the one that wanted to hang up.
So, we will see what happens. Should we take an 8 page advertising spread for POL?

Oh lordy. Can you put in a clause somewhere with the phrases "doggy bag", "all you can eat", "repeat visit" and "friends of the advertiser" please.

We didn't go for it.
We started to lose interest at the bit where "everyone, keeps takeaway menus stuck to their fridge"
The salesguy didn't seem to be aware that most people don't look through the menu, they just order the same stuff all the time. He genuinely seemd taken aback.
We asked for the space directly under Lemon Chicken but it wasn't available.

Spread being the key word here, I think.

Didn't know the Seaview was up for sale, we use it regularly as it's our favourite and just along the road.
The Chi Wai is back under the old management (Laura) again though and is closed for refurbishment at the moment. Hopefully it will improve and be worth a visit or two once it reopens

I didnt know this

I wouldn't say it was a dump.. but with all the other places opening up and others refurbing its due a revamp!
But a fish tank, lick of paint and a name change wont change the fact the old ling Hing is still a crap chinese.

Yep, its a shadow of its former self. I'm looking forward to the rice and lager jokes again.
The Seaview is listed in the ESPC at 254 Portobello High Street o/o £220,000, it is not identified by name.

I see the garage owner where the fire was has just been give permission to re-build our old favourite the "Lucky Star"............hope it still does their out-of-this-world Chicken Satay when it opens

(although it might be worthwhile missing the "barbecue" spare ribs off the menu

)

I doubt if Joe will be back as I think it was a bit of a blow to him when he was "let go". I hope I'm wrong though, as it won't be the same without him and his banter.
It opens tonight by the way. Who will be first to give it a try?

I spoke to Laura today while she was out cleaning her windows and she says Joe will be back too.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!
