Here are mine, while I'm in a morbid frame of mind...

At my funeral, I don't want any of that "He would have wanted us to have a good time," rubbish which people spout.

So they'll have to sit through the following:

Harmonica Man/Theme from Once Upon A Time In The West - Ennio Morricone
In My Hour Of Darkness - Gram Parsons
Is It Because I'm Black? - Syl Johnson
Eulogy and Light - Funkadelic
Ascension - John Coltrane (this is about 45 minutes long - ha!)
The Silent Boatman - Parliament

To reflect to: Angels - Robbie Williams
As the coffin is going - I Want to Break Free - Queen
And going out: Yesterday - The Beatles

It'll follow in the great family tradition. At my Mum's we had When They Begin the Beguine on the way in, My Love is Like a Red, Red, Rose in the middle and Whispering Grass by the Inkspots on the way out. We like a cheery funeral in our family

Basically a mixture of songs that make me happy and sad, Gold is my fav karaoke tune and would finish it off with 500 miles to finish on a happy note.

Well, I can safely say neither of your sisters will be singing along to that - since we've never heard of any of them

Which brings me to a conversation I recently had with my 80 year old Aunty. When I said I wanted Heaven Can Wait she said "Oh, I don't think I know the words to that one. I'll just have to sit and listen" - I felt a bit rotten reminding her that I was kind of hoping she wouldn't be there ...........

Good on her! Healthy optimism there, for sure.
