Urgently need a plumber!

Can anyone recommend one? We do have a name of someone but would prefer to use someone local if possible, and recommendations are important as we don't want any cowboys!
Cheers,
Paula

And while we're at it does anybody know of a decent builder (who will turn up!) to do a relatively small job but one which is outwith our capabilities

We recently used a local (well Craigentinny area) to put in my Mums shower, and I have to say he did an excellant job.
He was recommended to us by Age Concern.
His name is Alex Nisbet - 657 3419
Mobile 07831379738
How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you are?

We got Alex to put our dishwasher in - he did an excellent job, not tried it yet, just filling it with dirty dishes.

We got Alex to do some work for us too and he's certainly on our list now of 'tradesmen to go back too'

does anyone know any good tradesmen for dealing with damp problems, possibly coming from rainwater getting in, or for cleaning chimneys and building fireplaces?!

Hi

I am bringing this thread back up as I now need a plumber. Does anyone have any new recommendations on a good plumber?

Thanks

I had a plumber in today. He was previously recommended by DG - Stewart Roberston - 07866943456. Very pleased with his work. Turned up when he said he would and did a good job with no fuss.
