Never believe anything in the scotsman!

It's a shame that the comparisons seem limited to that old chestnut - Ingerland. It's always worth a comparison simply because of the historic and current linkages but it would be more interesting to me, in a post-devolution Scotland, to have some comparisons with (say) Norway, Belgium, Portugal.

"A spokesman for Scottish Enterprise said it had no comment to make."

What right do these people have to make "no comment"? Why are they a "spokesman" if they are not going to say anything. How appropriate is that? When part of the subject matter is the creation of endless public sector jobs?

They are paid for Civil Servants and as far as I know not on trial for any particular crime.
