Did you go through the maze when you were at the zoo, Dada?

It has little jets of water that go off intermittently and give you a slight soaking if you get the timing wrong.

Had great fun running round it a couple of years back. Nice way to cool off if the weather is like it's been lately.

We were there a week ago for eldest offspring's birthday, and one of the jaguars was injured, i think. Perfect place to take a pile of boys for a birthday, especially if as part of the picnic you take a bottle of wine, and send them off into the maze when you open it...

We have membership while the boys are so young - it's the perfect trip and you can get a bus almost door-to-door. Especially good for those inservice days when the kids are off but other half is working and I don't know what to do with them.

I remember taking COC to the zoo when she was about 2 and the elephant put it's trunk over the barrier and lifted her buggy right into the air. We thought it was going take it into the enclosure but luckily it decided it wasn't edible and just put it down again. Baby wasn't in it at the time I hasten to add

The jaguar was beautiful. My favourite was the wild cat but I only got photos of it hiding in its wee cave.

Some of the big cats - like the lions and tiger - it's just sad seeing them cooped up. Also, seeing birds in cages upsets me a bit.
