I was deeply shocked at the sight of her bare head. Especially as I was listening to my MP3 player and hadn't noticed her calling me.
Hmm, cycle helmets...
now there's a subject for some heated debate:
The Scottish Parliament don't think much of them
and neither do some others
I've never worn one and possibly never will, but I have been tussling with the subject since achieving the lofty, if not lonely, status of 'Father (without cycling helmet) to the Magnoliettes'
In some social circles I feel a little like one of those characters in a Bateman (?) cartoon - 'the man who didn't wear a cycling helmet...'
Go on, argue about it. You know it makes sense.

It's only fairly recently (in my cycling career) i've started to wear one... But getting hit by the side of an HGV and a few months later the front of a transit (not on the prom!) does have an effect on your POV I guess.
Only ever wear it on the commute.

I always wear a helmet. You never know many pedestrians you will crash into when you are zooming along the Prom!

Had a fair few fights with other half about this very thing. However, after an accident with the tag-a-long after school one day, where it worked loose and eldest was thrown to the ground on the road in the midst of school run traffic, one look at our young man's helmet seems to have convinced other half that they actually exist for a reason. If it had been young man's head and not helmet, young man would most likely not be alive.
