I am in total agreement with the aforementioned Posts, child abuse should never be tolerated - I would go as far as saying that the abusers should be castrated, these people are

As an (albeit lapsed RC) I do not agree with the Catholic Church's stance on contraception/protection - very few catholics do! Gone are the days of large families - although, I went to school with a girl who was one of 17 children - non catholic.

However, child abuse is not only confined to the Catholic Church:

My initial posting was about Pope John Paul receiving his last rites, he, in my opinion was just an ordinary man who made an extraordinary Pontif.
He will be sadly missed by people of every religious persuation.

He also totally condemns Child Abuse

Just heard that the Pope died about an hour ago. Whatever one may think of his beliefs he was a powerful figure for many, not least those from his homeland, Poland. It was painful to witness his slow decline and his death must surely be a welcome release from the suffering of recent years.

The last half hour of the Stuart Maconie show on Radio 2 has been cut and given over to sombre music and various politicians, religious figures etc giving their thoughts on the subject. Many other stations seem to have done similar.
