Stained glass windows
Stained glass windows
We have been looking to replace 2 small internal windows with stained glass. Looked around the usual Edinburgh places without success so went on the internet and found this company http://www.antiqueglassstudio.co.uk/
Thought it was worth a mention for anyone else looking for stained glass windows. This company have been excellent. I've had e-mails back with photos of possibilities and suggestions. The proprietor, Clive Watson has been so helpful and patient, even although he is aware that we have a financial low budget for this.
So, great company and I thought it was worth recommending to others.

I remember being told that one of the colleges (Telford?) runs a stained glass course and that recent graduates often offer a competent but reasonably priced service.
The local glazier Mark Smith (?) used to have an album of commissioned pieces completed by one of the course graduates who was touting for business.

Thanks for all the info. Fenton Barns at North Berwick sounds interesting and worth a visit. What we are really looking for ideally are 2 period stain glass panels that will fit in with the age of the property (around 1890). But we may start looking at new stained glass if we can't find the sizes we are looking for. Also, some of the period glass I've seen is soooo expensive!

Went there today - great place! Not many stained glass windows but loads of lovely things, and, yes, great baths. Going back tomorrow to but a light I saw. How easy does that happen - go searching for one thing and come back with another

Now you should go to EASY in Leith and see what you come away with, DG!!
Haven't been to their new premises in West Bowling Green St, but their old place off Coburg Street was amazing!!
