Ever since moving into Dada Towers, Chester (our 13 year old tabby) has been slowly discovering, and "owning" various parts of the house. This morning it was the turn of the bannisters halfway up the stairs - as pictured -

Now, bearing in mind that this is an old cat who is rather unsteady on his feet these days - and for whom climbing down from the couch seems to take a great deal of preparation, imagine my surprise when Mrs Dadaist informed me that Chester had decided to start climbing through said bannisters - she pulled him back - but was in another room when a definite *thump* came, and Durham Road's newest Lemming decided to test out this whole flying cat idea.
Needless to say, he is fine, I just wonder what's next....
Chester - the Incredible Flying Cat
If it wasn't that all cats are inherently mad, I'd say this was a result of the stress of moving
- i.e. he's flipped! But it's just what being a cat is all about! My cousin's cat used to hurl herself off the top of the wardrobe on to her (my cousin) when she was in bed, which was fine when she (the cat) was a wee ball of fur, but not when she was somewhat bigger!
Thanks for the story Dada and Beachbabe. I've had a really bad day at work, and a story about mad cats was just what I needed (as long as Chester was not hurt) !!
I love the picture.
