Monday night quiz

Post by Bob Jefferson » 14 Mar 2005, 17:59

This time it's an 80's TV quiz. Same as before, click to download the Excel file, save to your desktop and type in your answers. This one is a little more intelligent in that it will recognise some misspellings and tell you that you are close.

There are 100 to get. Good luck!

I've got 85 so far. One or two issues with spelling...off to sleep on it.

Why won't it accept Dempsey and Makepeace or The Six Million Dollar man (and yes, I tried The Bionic Woman too)? Grr..

It accepted Dempsey and makepeace for me, but none of the variants of a couple of the cartoons, and not the bionic/million billion trillion dollar man or whatever, and a couple of others I know are right. And Wurzel Gummidge is spelt the way I just spelled it...but it won't accept it.

I've done the whole thing in lower case and it has accepted it. Had a couple of problems with apostrophes though.

I managed to get 95 with 3 close before accepting I needed some help. I think the 3 close are purely because the dam thing wont accept what I think are the right answers. These ARE the right answers, its just that it wont accept them!

71 - Around The World With Willy Fogg
80 - That’s Life
89 - Three Up Two Down

Can anyone help with these closeys!

71.. ..is simply, willy fog
80... that's life
89... 3 up 2 down

All accepted typed as above for me. Good for you getting that far without cheating

It's frustrating isn't it when you know the answer is right and it keeps saying "close"

Catz gave me the answer for no.74 which was eldorado and yet earlier I had tried something with the word "man" in it and it told me I was close so I must have tried dozens of different "mans" all to be told I was close. Can't work that one out

Sorry that was all wrong it was the word "steel" for that one. It was no.18 that had "man" close. :?

Thanks for those slight corrections. I have Excel 2003, when you typed in Thats, it automatically put a slanty apostophe in so made it wrong, when i typed it with a bl**dy straigh apostrophe, its correct!

that's life = CORRECT
that’s life = CLOSE

OK, on 98 with 2 to go and I have not cheated, I really am that sad
