Brightons Residents Association holds its annual Spring Clean of both Brighton and Rosefield Park this coming Saturday between 10am and 12 noon.
Local residents always turn out in large numbers for this event and it would be great to see some forum members along there. The rubbish tends to accumulate in the shrubbery around the perimeter of the parks and we always remove a huge amount of litter.
The event is supported by by CEC and local businesses. All protective equipment provided. Children are very welcome under the supervision of a responsible adult, though parents should be advised that Brighton Park is full of dog poo at present.
Meet at 10am in Rosefield Park playground. Hope to see some of you there!

Hmm, 50 views and no replies. Believe me, this is a real feel-good way to start the weekend. Come along and say hello. Meet some new people. This is community action. Be part of it.

And here's some who did. Great effort from everyone, particularly the women who donned waders and got into the burn while the men watched from the safety of the river bank.
A large amount of litter was removed from both Rosefield and Brighton Parks, including three huge gas cannisters that had been dumped in the burn and numerous empty vodka bottles.
Thanks to Asda and EDC for supporting the event. Although not pictured, I can vouch for one of the joint chairs of BRA being present.
(The two attractive blondes in the final picture just happened to be passing.)

I was a viewer and non-replyer - had
nine hours at college on Saturday

. And with me was a BR, the good wife of an amenity society chap; when I mentioned in coffee break we were missing cleaning the park, she nodded and actually looked upset about it.
Good to see one of the newest residents in one of the pics. I think it's great when people get involved in things so quickly. To those who did help, thank you from a person who uses both parks regularly.

All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!
