Much as I dislike the commercialism of these occasions, my 10 year old has just brought me breakfast in bed (cheerios and a cup of tea) and a home made card

Aww the wee darling... makes it all worth while

Needless to say my teenager is obliviously asleep like every other Sunday

I think Homer and son have been taking their inspiration from Mr Epykat

I miss those homemade cards that my son used to bring back from nursery

I'm most impressed that your 10 year old is that thoughtful.

Dan made me a lovely Mother's Day present at his Beaver meeting this week.

It's a Roberston's Jam jar cunningly fashioned into a vase by it having been painted with metallic paint.

It's a thing of beauty.

well I got a beautiful rose plant

and two cards - one homemade at nursery (my baby daughter is so talented with glitter lol) and a lovely card hand-delivered (or rather mouth-delivered - she was particularly keen to eat the pink envelope

) this morning

I was most pleased

Huh.
Youngest made a daffodil (no, that can't be right....grew? Picked? Was handed by nursery teacher?) at nursery on Friday, or so I assume, but he didn't bring it home even though every other child did. Eldest I vaguely remember made something at Beavers - not a vase though, ecm, I'm sooo jealous - so jealous I can't even remember what it was eldest made

. But yesterday we got nothing. When they came through to the bedroom we pointed out it was mothers' day, and gave a long lecture about how kind we always were to our mothers, so eldest brought me a cup of tea, and as he didn't know what to do he brought other half a bottle of wine! I felt this was grossly unfair, even if it was too early to drink it...

When I was quite wee and still keen on doing good things for parents, I made my first pot of tea one morning using the golden rule - a spoon of tea for each person and one for the pot.

Doesn't really work with 7 people and a standard size pot...

I wish I knew!

I climbed out of the shower last week and went into some kind of terrible spasm. My back and butt have ached since and it seems I have sciatica.

It's so sore, I've given it it's own thread!

Well Epykitten the Horrible gave me a lovely bunch of flowers - he said 'there's a bunch of flowers in the sink' as he flew out of the door. COC gave me the excuse that she thought it was on Monday
