I think you are worrying too much!

100,000 expected for the Edinburgh demo on 02 July, organised (I think) by Shelter.

Methinks (OK, maybe mehopes) this will be a very British affair, with the heavy mob sweating in the background drinking tea. And I will be glad that they are there, if anybody tries to take advantage...

Or did you want to start a discussion as to whether British policing is more or less heavy handed when compared with Italian or American? I think we have all (including our police) had recent good experience of very sincere, very ordered, protests and I don't really see that being any different?

Complaining about ID cards is always good but hey, looks like we will have one anyway, with an allegedly majority consent.

I am not familiar with the British Polcing system for large demonstrations, although I do think that they are more tolerant than many European Forces.

I posted this link to engage with people who perhaps have been involved with large demo's and their experiences of how the Police behaved.
