It was my birthday last week and I got a Bose sound deck :love10: for my ipod. Trouble is now everyone can hear my choice of songs, on what I thought would be my personal player. When "Wichita Lineman" came on Homer nearly choked on his beer. "I'm surprised we've even got that on itunes," he said.

Poppy, I won't cheat as I knew where you were going on your hols.

I think we need another clue Poppy. As Marya was aware of my holiday plans she is barred from this one as well:

Clever ole Soupy - the second photo was indeed Halifax's Piece Hall. We stayed up the hill from Hebden Bridge and the monument is Stoodley Pike.

Spot on Soupers! We were back at Keldy for the first time in several years and had a great holiday. I was persuaded, against my better judgement to Go Ape! along with my son. Just the thing for someone with no head for heights!

Didn't see Poppy on my travels though.

The furthest north we got was to Bolton Abbey near Skipton. We came home via Windermere and Kirkstone Pass having gone down on the M6/65. So I think we were successful in avoiding Bob (did I say that out loud  )

Keldy is near Pickering, not far from Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay.

And this, which frightened the life out of me the first time it appeared out of the moors:

Ta, Pops We were canoeing round the islands on the loch and I thought the tree was quite striking.

No, much to my chagrin, I didn't find the photo. I did, however, find a larger copy of the original, which I framed and gave to my cousin. I eventually came clean on the last day of the holiday (I stressed about it for the whole week!), admitted I couldn't find the borrowed original and promised to send it as soon as it comes to light   Homer is now really looking forward to me having to tidy the house from top to bottom in my attempt to find the damned thing!

Halifax Piece Hall!
Knew I'd been there.
Remember buying raspberry leaf tea there.
My dad's cousin lives in Holmfirth ( Last of the summer wine ) so we had a holiday in Yorkshire many years ago

It looks almost Italianate, doesn't it? I was expecting something quite different, I must say.

In fact, West Yorkshire was very different from what we'd expected - much steeper hills and far more trees, for a start. Weird fields with lanes all over the common pastures on the moors. And as for the pronunciation of placenames....!!

Lots of cats which was great - we went to Heptonstall and there were more mogs roaming about than people!!

The only down side was I was bitten VERY hard by a feral goose on the Rochdale Canal - the little **** had me by the shinbone. Despite the immediate application of arnica, it's left a big bruise

Wow! I was impressed that you got a photo of one deer - then next time I looked I realised that there were three!

I have seen a single deer on two other occasions. However, I didn't have my camera with me :( This time though, I was trying out a new camera which I got for Christmas :)
