Another thing to while away all the time you should be doing something more useful with.

I wish that I'd not found this site, as I can tell I'm going to waste a lot of time watching things on it.

Oh well.

There's such a lot of good stuff on here but it takes ages to play even a wee clip.

JP, do you suffer from the buffer too?

Yes, ecm, I do suffer from the buffer. I generally do a simple indoor exercise, eg press-ups or star jumps (I use the Swedish army training system), while waiting for the file to buffer, then sit down with a cup of tea and some heroin to watch whatever gem I've found.

Ah, a cup of tea. That's where I've been going wrong.

Thanks, JP.

Type in anything - bands, places --it's all true too!

The Cocteau Twins
http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Cocteau_Twins

Most commonly known as The Cockatoo Twins, the Cocteau Twins was a band that you may know of but somehow nobody else does.

Origin
One day, little Elizabeth Fraser was sent shopping by her mum. As she was an exceptionally good little girl she was allowed some sweets. When she arrived at the spanking new shopping centre, Elizabeth was very excited to see a funny little notice... "Singer wanted for indie-pop group: apply THE COCKATOO TWINS, the old barn". Lizzie hot-footed it straight to the old barn where she found Robin and Hector Cockatoo trying some new things with an echo box and guitars... Having no lyrics Liz thought quickly and pulled out her shopping list and sang that. They asked her to join and a fab pop act was born.

The lyrics were exactly this: "CH-CH-cherry cola... dreft...eft..eft...cotton buds...cotton...wool, lemondrops, lemonade sherbet, lemons... spices... calamine lotion... otion... canteloop.. melons..."

Bob Dylan
http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan
Bob Dylan (born May 20, 1913 - 2006 ) is a dangerous radical activist and a tourist. He golfs on Sundays when he's not engaged in watching pro basketball. Some consider him to be a Sith Lord. He smells of a mix of onions, garlic

http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Edinburgh

Edinburgh", or, to give it it's technical name, "Edin mu pont frexis a la monte", is the largest of the seven mobile cities of the World. Currently broken down in the centre of Glasgow in Scotland, the city now shows extensive wind, rain, and bagpipe damage on its outer fringes. Edinburgh has been at war with Glasgow ever since 1989 when it broke down, crushing the entire centre of the ill-fated Scottish capital. While Glasgow has since recovered from the damage caused enough to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003, feelings between the two cities are at an all-time low, and violence escalated recently when Edinburgh Castle was replaced by a jelly sculpture of Oscar Wilde by a pair of mischievious Glaswegians. However, the Arch-Rabbi of Edinburgh, Lionel Blue, remains confident that peace talks with Glasgow will be successful, and the city will be able to maneouvre out of its current location by mid-2011. Edinburgh's primary export is wind, which it manufactures in its many picturesque streets.

Edinburgh is a satellite town of nearby Dalkeith. It orbits in a roughly circumnavigational course around Dalkeith.

Fascinating stuff!

Alternative tee-shirt design?

Post by Maria » 03 Apr 2006, 09:58

A friend who is a member of this forum but is a bit shy about posting (and is currently observing a strict period of mourning after yesterday's footie result) , sent me this link Portobello Teeshirt design.
It may be the answer to all those demands for a more tasteful tee shirt Bob!

This site has some great clips on it. The public safety films are particularly brilliant.
As are the old Crossroads clips.

I haven't had a chance to investigate further yet as I've been too busy studying the various BBC Scotland logos from the 80s.
