It's also good to have the waves between each post ( a bit like the sea!

I must admit I agree with Arachnid on this one.

I think the date is fine as long as you are logged in Scorpion...it's only the wrong way round if you're lurking

All the yellow images have now been updated to this "more mellow yellow".

I've changed it to dd/mm/yyyy, but I can't help thinking something's being missed here... Why not just login and then the new posts are obvious (due to the orange highlight) - no need to mess around reading the date

Love the waves and the "mellow yellow".
Thanks, Wangi.

Thanks for making the change. Quite often I just browse the topics on the forum and if I see something I want to reply to then I log in.

Her moans are almost poetic. Her description of putting on a Fringe show for people on the bus outside her house was rib-hurtingly funny.

My options won't be quite so good this year. It will have to be a one woman show I think

Great idea. I will be your casting director. I'm thinking of a serious piece about a delusional classroom assistant that has a slight alcohol problem. She is married to an allotment escapist who appears to have the patience of a saint.

Last year's was entitled "The Three Stages of Clare". This year it might just be "Clare's had it!"

I think that the new style has now improved immensley as a result of the users feedback.
When I first saw it I did not like it at all. With the addition of the different coloured posts, wavy lines and toned down buttons it is now much less off putting and I'm sure it will grow on me.
Therefore, this thread has been a success - apart from its tone. It has been 'complaining' from the users and 'defensive' from the management. Neither of these are wrong or unjustified. If something you use frequently changes dramatically without warning/consultation, your tone will naturally be one of complaint.
If you've invested a lot of your time developing a resource for the better without payment and everyone starts lobbing complaints - your naturally going to be defensive.
I agree that there would have been a much more positive tone and atmosphere had the new style been presented for feedback first and then made the default theme on a clearly forewarned date.

Well, you must have liked a bit of it fearghal because it looks like you've nicked Wangi's 'writing in the sand' photo idea for sailporty's header!
Good luck with the new site BTW. Excellent idea.

Very true. That was well and truly stolen. I thought I was stealing it from porty.org.uk though - I saw it there before I saw it on talkporty

Well, I have stopped reverting to subsilver and am now well and truly converted to the new talkporty.
I never like change in anything (even my toothbrush, but I do before anyone says anything) and am always moaning much to Mr TG's disgruntlement if we have to change anything in the house. I just get comfortable with my old and familiars I'm afraid.

Yep I think the new look is great. I like it more everytime I log on.
I like the addition of the waves and the lighter shade of yellow.
Give yourself a pat on the back Wangi.

I still don't like it I must say, everything just seems to *float*, and I think there could be more definition between posts within a thread and between posts on the main boards, but at least it doesn't hurt my eyes any more. Thank you for taking on board people's comments Wangi.

I think the new style looks great, especially now posts you can see each post with the slightly different tone/waves between each post. Well done Wangi

Ok, the font used when posting replies was fixed earlier today... So...

The lights are getting turned off for the old subSilver style.

Im going to do something which is rare in my life, Wangi, Im going to eat my words. Even though I find the page a bit hard on the eyes on the PC Its much easier to navigate when your looking at it through a mobile phone, as I found out going home last night.

Hmm, this sounds like a coded message. Are you being held captive by Iranian moderators Catz? Are they treating you well?
