Wangi - that's fantastic! I was on the Prom coming from Bath Street at the time you look this, I reckon, and was hoping you'd be out and about with your camera to capture the scene.

We may have had a 'bad' summer, but we've seen some amazing sights with the clouds and the rain - better than boring blue skies??!! :)

I entirely agree - that's an amazing picture, Wangi. A bit scary, too, since it was heading for us!

Here are some pics from our trip to Belgium - the weather wasn't great but as Poppy said earlier it makes for interesting and atmospheric shots - especially when your digital camera is doing all the hard work for you!!

Like the perspective on the dyke (filter watch!) and the colours in the sunset!

I thought it was just the September long weekend. That explains why you've been so quiet. Did Ali get withdrawals from "Railway Tycoon" then?
We were away for 10 days - living in a rented house in Brugge. We love it there. It's a lovely city with so much to see and do and such welcoming people.

As long as you're not French or French speaking!

The people of the north of Belgium, the Flanders region, really despise the French and nothing riles them more than hearing French accents or if visitors from Britain try to communicate in French.
So, they're happy if you speak English and so am I!

Ali says he didn't miss his games at all but he's a big liar.

Wangi/Anyone, can you tell me where in Portobello the tenements are in the middle of this picture? The ones up against the water, that is.

I can't quite work out where they are.

Lovely sunrise pictures, Wangi.

There was a beautiful double rainbow over the centre of town this morning. I don't suppose you a.) still go into town to work b.) had your camera?

Both a and b, but no picture... I was in the middle of betting blown backward by the wind and rain on my mountain bike when I saw them!

That was a hard slog this morning...

Oh dee ay em en :( That's a shame.

Glad you made it in safely, though! I found it hard enough just walking aginst the wind, never mind cycling! Still, going home, you should have the wind behind you - unless it changes direction, of course!

I used always to carry my camera, but I it's 'film', so you'd have had to wait a couple of months till I ran the rest off, anyhow.

I was 'parked' on the bypass and took a shot I haven't yet looked at - if its any good maybe I'll use it as my edjewkashen trial for uploading photies.

Talking of sunrises,(whoops, just noticed that we're not, its photos, but never mind) the eldest magnoliette and I were lurking on the beach on Sunday morning and witnessed the sun rising over the lovely East Lothian hills (and pylons). Our first Porty sunrise! We used to go out onto Bruntsfield Links, which meant we could stay in bed a wee bit longer as we waited for it to creep over Arthurs Seat.

I look forward to it! It would be really good if it has come out right.

Well, in a couple of weeks, you won't have to be up too early to catch a sunrise! Of course, then they disappear altogether for a few months!

I have seen some truly stunning ones from my old flat, out over a silky blue sea on a flat calm morning, with Berwick Law looking like a volcano on the horizon.

Lovely place to live is Porty! :D :sunny: :thumbright: :thumbleft:

Wow! Wangi, you have taken some fab photos of late. How about sticking a few more up on our Gallery section, or adding to what's already there? I know that a lot of people check out this section, even if they don't participate in the forum.

Love these photos, Wangi. I was sitting at the top of Easter Road yesterday looking at an amazingly clear rainbow. Had a crap day at work and it helped to balance things a bit.

Oh, it's just a hobby! Good way to relax and focus (doh) on non-work related things. Also ties in good with going for a cycle - exercise and you can take shots when you see them!

Went for a cycle to North Berwick on saturday and managed to get a few shots, in these galleries:

Just wanted to add my appreciation of the rainbow photos, Wangi. I saw them last thing on Friday, before leaving work, and I was going to go on-line on Saturday when I collected my t-shirt, but the libray system was down! I do like the one of the rainbow over the pilings and the sea. And I have to confess I had no idea there was a statue of Abraham Lincoln in central Edinburgh!

Sorry, no embarassment to relate over getting my t-shirt - my user-name is very ordinary! (I feel now as if I should have been embarassed!)
