You have not so much missed the boat as not been anywhere near the port on the date the boat left.
I understood the comic intent without subsequent explanation. I don't really think you lose it in Tesco Metro.
My reply was in the persona of an agony uncle on the Dear Gilo thread.
Enjoy the jacuzzi and turn up the bubbles

I believe that baked beans and jalapenos will be fuelling the bubbles in Dada's Jacuzzi.

Dear Gilo
I am currently undergoing an identity crisis. Can you read below for an explanation please.

that did cross my mind too!
Sandra. It is me. I've just changed my user name, that's all. I am supposed to keep the name JP exclusively for the cookery book I'm currently writing, and therefore had to change it.
However, I did not anticipate the level of discombobulation and strange sense of loss I am now feeling, even though I've been meaning to change it for months. I don't know what to do. I might have to go back to the now de-activated username, JP, and stuff the publishers. I miss JP, even though it's just another made-up name. Weird eh? I know I'm rambling here, but my head is a mass of conflicting emotions and thoughts, and I'm just trying to work through them.
Sorry to burden you with this Sandra, but what should I do?
CHEERS,
NELSON.
Also, Marya has just posted this:
and it made me weep a solitary tear, albeit in an incredibly manly way.
I feel like I've been sucked into a cyberspace black hole of my own making, and if it wasn't for the detective cookery book, I'd be kissing JP's virtual a rse pretty sharpish and asking him for forgiveness.
Help me Gilo. You're my only hope.
CHEERS,
NELSON.

Nelson,
where to start?
Firstly let me give you a big warm hug through these cold wires, you’ve certainly been through a lot today.
I’m not surprised you are feeling at sixes and sevens. Lets take a little time to think about what has happened.
A name change is a huge thing. If someone suddenly told me my name was to be Graham and not Gilo I’d feel all at sea, grappling to find the rudder. I'm not surprised you are experiencing an identity crisis, part of you has become Jackson Priest, and Jackson Priest has become part of you.
We use names to consolidate our identity and sense of self. It lets us think we know who we are. Unless you’ve reached beyond ‘the selfâ€

Maybe NH is JPs evil twin, like in that Steven King book. The one with the sparrows and the pencils.

Everything you've said, Gilo, is what has been going through my mind. Apart from maybe the va-gina bit. I am waiting for Mrs Pri- er, Madame Hatstand and Little Miss Hatstand to go out to sunday service now, before I get down on the floor with a big cardboard fanny.
I'll try to provide a sound recording or at least a transcript of this rebirth. Perhaps it will be broadcast on Radio Free Porty, or I may even video it and submit it to Portobelly Telly.
JP will live on, what with the detective cookery book (that's the third time I've mentioned that, and no-one's asked about it yet) and other projects which are currently under wraps/too dull to mention.
You have helped me, Gilo, there is no doubt about that. What a man you are.
CHEERS,
NELSON.

Yes, it was a good idea Arachnid. Thanks.
I did actually film my birth - how many people can say that? - but I'm not sure if it's entirely broadcastable. It was like the first scene in Apocalypse Now crossed with Rosemary's Baby.
Nasty stuff, and I'm not sure if I want to live through it again, but I'm feeling a lot better for it. (You'll be glad to know.)
CHEERS,
NELSON.

[quote="Dadaist"]Gilo
when I wrote any of my recent tirades with respect to Tesco Metro and Ironing Boards.
My only intention was *comedy*.

Poor Dadaist.
I realised it was humerous, hence my daft replies on those particular posts. I don't recall the Boogie Babies one though so I can't comment on that . Maybe for some of us you'll need to put a comedy sign in front of the post!!!
As for the bubble bath, I'm glad we don't have aroma posts!!!!!!
