We all got one. And if you think Neo-Dadaist's is cute then you should see Oscar's.

Yes!! A lovely part of the country- went for long walk in the woods (saw peregrine fledglings!) yesterday and stayed at the NL Mill Hotel.
I was last in NL in the late 60s - a wreck of a place then, what a difference!

A very welcome addition to the photo club. Remember to make backups of your precious photos (hosting them online will do as this means a copy is saved).
Looking forward to your posts P.

Amen to that. A friend of mine has just been broken into and her computer stolen. She said all her family's photos from the past two years were on it, with no back up - and her wee boy only just turned four. Half of his lifetime in photos gone, just like that.
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

Thanks for reminders re back-ups - have been saving Plug's to disk as I go along for the last year fearing a computer crash! Never thought of theft too
Will do rest today!

Another pretty flower at Dirleton! Now that I've managed to reduce its size having zoomed it too far in error.

What camera do you have, Poppy?
Also, what (if any) software do you use to make the photos web-sized?
Lovely flower btw. I had a sad look at my roses this morning - I moved them into pots when I turfed that rose bed in the front, and they aren't happy. I think I'm going to get 1 rose this year. I had to prune them heavily and even though I tried my best not to disturb the roots too much, I think I'm going to lose some plants.
One of them had probably been in the rose bed for decades and is well in the huff with me. I've done my best with rose feed, compost, etc but you know how plants are - if you upset them they go well in the huff to the point of dying just to annoy you.

Camera is a Vivitar ViviCam 4345 (4.0 megapixel, 3X zoom, f=5.4-16.2 mm - not that I really know what that means!). It was an impulse buy - was on special offer in Superdrug - camera plus SD card was £42!.
Most times have not had to reduce to put on Forum - just that Iris that I zoomed to see what would happen (still on a massive learning curve) and forgot to unzoom when rotating it. Do that sort of thing in either "My Pictures" or Kodak Easyshare from Plug's camera.
Re roses - don't know much about them but sad yours had gone into the huff

Surely some POLer has green fingers and can help?

Love your flower pictures, Poppy. That certainly was a bargain priced camera and it takes great pics. Like you I'm still learning with ours and if I don't use it for a while I forget everything. I'm always being nagged at for not having it on the right setting.
Have you been on holiday with all this galavanting you're doing ?

Gilo, it's High Force at Middleton-in-Teesdale, Co Durham.
We expected something a tad more dramatic from the blurb, but I've since seen photos of when the water is in full spate and the whole width of the waterfall (i.e. including where I was standing to take the photo) is 'in use' and I have to say that it would then be an truly impressive sight - and sound! Lovely setting.

My son Chris has just managed to land himself a job down in Horsham. So now that he has found a job and a place to stay he's bought himself a car to go with it. Typically he couldn't just buy himself a simple every day car, he had to be different and bought himself a Mazda

Cool car, Son of Scorpion!

TG - yes, we were off this week with a day and night at New Lanark. We came home via Craignethan Castle and the Calders in West Lothian. The latter was a thrill!!
The waterfall was from last year from a CD I got when I had the film developed.

This was taken by Plug in October 2004 on a bog standard Olympus! The view from Ratagan, but I'm having a senior moment

and cannot remember what the view is of (and atlas too small scale).
