A rather nice Australian Shiraz.
We bought a few Yaldara estate red wines around Christmas as Mr Soupy and his family had lived near there for a while ( Barossa Valley )

Nah, never too much!

Found the G&B drinking choc in Tescos, said it was "new". Very similar in taste to the choc bar.

Good news for female users of Nelson's face cream Tea 'controls female hair growth' and a word of warning from the same source for some of you male mint tea drinkers out there :
According to the researchers, extracts of spearmint plant (Mentha spicata Labiatae) had been reported to reduce libido in men in a town called Isparta in southwest Turkey, possibly due to reduced androgen hormone levels

Pah!
Very clever biochemist with large cranium capacity wrote:The essential oils of peppermint and spearmint are distinguished by the position of oxygenation on the constituent p-menthane monoterpenes. Peppermint produces monoterpenes bearing an oxygen at C3, whereas spearmint produces monoterpenes bearing an oxygen at C6. Branching of the monoterpene biosynthetic pathways in these species is determined by two distinct cytochrome P450s that catalyze the regiospecific hydroxylation of ()-4S-limonene at C3 or C6 exclusively. cDNAs encoding the limonene-3-hydroxylase from peppermint and the limonene-6-hydroxylase from spearmint have been isolated, shown to be 70% identical at the amino acid level, and functionally expressed. A combination of domain swapping and reciprocal site-directed mutagenesis between these two enzymes demonstrated that the exchange of a single residue (F363I) in the spearmint limonene-6-hydroxylase led to complete conversion to the regiospecificity and catalytic efficiency of the peppermint limonene-3-hydroxylase.
so there.

Was it just the one town affected by mint tea?
The quote didn't actually say they were drinking the tea did it.
A hot cuppa in the lap would certainly reduce the libido

Haven't Jacobs Creek risen in price in recent years? Became more popular

We started drinking it years ago before it was really popular, along with other Oz wines, purely because Mr Soupy had been living in Australia and thought they were great even though the wine snobs frowned upon the New World stuff
He recounts coming back to their house out there, laden with the produce of Yaldara estates almost breaking the car axle and still having change etc etc . It WAS the 70s
