What did Aunty Helen do, or not do, to incur such humbuggery?
I'm psyching myself up to start card writing tonight and am looking for an excuse (anything will do) to get out of it.
Well, after a (yet another) lengthy card writing session last year whereby I wrote my usual wee festive note to Aunty Helen and all the other people I haven't clapped eyes on since I was about 8, telling them how much I hoped they had had a good year etc, etc, etc - I got a card back from her saying 'from Helen'. Not even 'love Helen' or 'best wishes, Helen' - so this year I'm not doing cards - and it's been great. Thing is, chances are that nobody will even notice that ours is missing in among the dozens of other dust collectors hanging about their living room. I've saved fortunes on cards and stamps and there's been no hanging about at the Post Office or phoning round the rest of the family for addresses and postcodes that I keep meaning to write down. I think we should all not do it

I wish you'd posted this last night, E. It's a good enough reason in my book.

Im the same I always mean to write addresses down but every year have to phone up mum/m-in-l for addresses. As for stamps spent a fortune.

My bahumbuggery (how did ecm get away with that one?) Christmas is gathering momentum and I told Mr E I wasn't putting up the tree - so he did it

.
Obviously, it was all wrong so I started fixing it this morning (don't even know myself why I chose 7.50AM!) only to end up getting covered in artificial snow which wouldn't come off without the aid of half a roll of sellotape and was then late for work

. This Jesus guy's got a lot to answer for.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Does your Bahumbuggery extend to New Year as well ? If so does that mean there will be no gazebo in the garden for Hogmanay this year ?

Mrs smug isn't getting on so well with the Christmas card writing though, I forgot that I had a few letters to write and I haven't bought enough cards although I have leftovers from last year but some are not right for the people I need them for and I'm getting in a pickle

Do you save these little dogs on wheels Teddygirl??

Why be scared????

But I am sure that when you get home you'll find the house sparkling and the wife in the kitchen dressed in a frilly pinny and cooking a tasty dish for your tea.

Oh dear....never mind.... Marya and I are in the lead so far then....we're off until........the 9th OF JANUARY

Poor Mr E is actually on call on Xmas day
Had our work night out last night (which was obviously enhanced tenfold and at least one vodka and lemonade by the fact I met Porty and POP) Thought I did quite well considering I started at 3.30pm and ended on the beach eating a kebab at 1am. As I lay in bed this morning safe in the knowlege that my make up was still intact (

) and I obviously looked as gorgeous as I did when I went out, my husband shattered all illusions by saying "right smelly, here's your tea" - apparently eau de kebab lingers.......

Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

I've just realised that today is in fact Friday and not Saturday. I therefore shouldn't have posted this post on this thread, I should have posted it on the 'Work night out' thread - sorry. Obviously a bit more unwith it than I originally thought
