The Apple shops must have them out the back - just ask for a "P C" and you'll be fine.
If it comes in a dayglow colour then ask for a different one

I don't want a computer that looks like a Spangle.
I am currently listening to a bootleg of The Smiths - Brixton Academy 12/12/86.

Lucky you! There are some great Smith's clips on the youtube site JP linked us to.
I'm currently listening to colleagues "warming up" for a Sing-a-longa-Abba night they're all off to tomorrow.
They have wigs, satin trousers and lots of blue eyeshadow.
I'm scared.

They are all white now (as Michael Barrymore would say).
I will try to do a .zip file - that's what I'd meant to do in the first place.

I've got a video with lots of these, and a dvd of the South Bank Show programme too. I might lend it to you if you lend me that Barron Knights tape you were on about.
Currently listening to Tusk, the new single by Clinic. It is very fast. It sounds like all their other stuff, only faster. And you can download it free-ly and legally from here:
http://www.clinicvoot.org/ (and there's a video too).

If shes an early seventies Dusty Springfield-alike from a Scandinavian country then - yes. She sounds a bit like that bloke from "A-Ha". Or would that make her a Finn?
Anyway, that song was used to great effect in Jaaaaam.

He was mentioned earlier in this thread. I think it was decided that he should die.
Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Never heard of them M, but will check them out.
I need to listen to something new.
I've been listening to the same stuff on my mp3 player for weeks now.

Snow Patrol's new album 'Eyes Open'.
Outstanding, even better than the last one. Was really wanting to get tickets to their Meadowbank 'gig' on 25th August.....but we're on holiday that day.

Just been listening to them on XFM Bearcub. The DJ was talking about their recent concert. He said the sound production was pretty poor and he hoped that they'd get it sorted before Meadowbank. He also said that the new album sounds much more 'stadium rock' than 'Final Straw'. Not sure I fancy the sound of that

I don't even know what that means

I loved the first album though and intend to buy the new one regardless. I also think I could possibly be very distantly, twice removed, related to the lead singer

If he means they've taken the success of 'Run' and tried to replicate it, then I would have to agree. There are probably 4-5 songs that are anthemic in a Run-ish way.................but nothing wrong with that.
My personal favourite, at the moment, is 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar', a duet with Martha Wainright.

I really like their knew single. It closely reminds me of the Counting Crows especially the reference to Lions.

The last album has more energy, but the new one is a grower...
Got tickets for Meadowbank, but £56+ for 2 tickets...

The only 2 gigs I can remember at Meadowbank were Prince (supported by 4 non blondes and TTF) and Simple Minds. Wasn't at either of them.
Have there been others?

Pixies (with idlewild and Teenage Fanclub as support). Didn't go because it was Meadowbank
If it was somewhere else then i'd have went to see Idlewild... Was a bit underwhelmed by the Pixies at TITP

PoP and I went to see Prince at Meadowbank. The sound system was diabolical, indeed the whole thing was weird. Prince was being filmed on stage from the stand and it was being fed onto either one or two big screen. Prince, who is one sexy mover, was giving it laldy and the (42 or 34) bus could be seen going round its route, in the background.

Brilliant. That got a big laugh round the office. Imagine if the 42 changed its name to "The Bus Formerly Known As The 42".
Playing now - "Bounty Killer III" from Depth Charge's album "Lust".
