Must be a full moon. Mr E's back too in a reasonably soberish state. Very strange.

Imagine how mad they would have been if they'd come home and we'd been out!

You would be too if all there was in the house was a bottle of really awful Spanish 'wine', teabags and strawberry milk shake mix. I couldn't even nip to the shop because the conversation on here was so riveting that I daren't leave

Hi Epykat, are you out tonight?
Wouldn't want you to have a boring Friday night like last week, though its a bit cold and wet and wintery out, hope its not like this the next again Friday or all the newbies who are coming along to night out will stay at home

Thanks Sandra for being concerned about my Friday night mental welfare

I was actually out last night, to a very pleasant retiral do at the Hibs Club. Since it was such a horrible night I took the car which was fine because it's obviously the bubbles in the coke and not the vodka that get me into the party mood

It was DWs. There were a lot of old faces including Paul Thompson - remember him? He was just my hero - and I told him so! He probably would have been more flattered if I was still 18

George Smuga was sitting beside me at the meal - my claim to fame for the evening

He used to teach me Modern Studies - failed the Higher twice - I told him that and he laughed (probably the same attitude that led to me failing

)

I remember Miss MacMillan (but her name wasn't Maureen, you made that up). Do you remember her pal Annie Sutherland - she was great. Told us we were too immature to appreciate Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead so took the books off us after the 3rd day - at least she didn't mince her words

I've always been scared to try to read it again in case I discover my maturity still hasn't peaked.

I'm off to a "do" at the Three Sisters. A couple of friends are off to Italy for a year so they are having a goodbye party there.

Dan and I have just been for a swim and now we're getting to grips with a Harry Potter PS2 game.
There's a nice bottle of rose wine chilling in the fridge for me to have later and some Finlays black pudding waiting for tomorrow's brekkie.
Sweet.
This time next week I will be brushing off my top hat and tails though.

You didn't happen to see my offspring at the pool with his pal, by any chance ecm? Or did Dan have a lucky escape?
Homer has deserted me until Monday for the lure of a yachting trip with some of his mates and the Tarbet music festival - drink only plays a small part in this weekend's events, of course

I'm left on my own to amuse our son over the long weekend (all the men that have gone on the trip are fathers and they do this trip every year on the same holiday weekend, but are the mothers of their children resentful? Darn right we are

).
It'll be a chilled bottle of white for me tonight, ecm and all the tele I want to watch. I might even watch my freebie "My Life as a Dog" DVD. I
adore that film.

Sounds idyllic apart from the black pudding

Can't say that I noticed Matthew, M but I did think that Homer flashed by me on his bike as I was leaving Sainsbury's yesterday?
I was swithering about whether or not to rent a DVD for later tonight but decided to pass. I shall find some rubbish to watch on the box or pester folks on here for a bit chat.
I might even go so far as to talk to Ali?

Ok.
I think it's a toss up between digging out my DVDs of either The Rutles or a few episodes of Black Books. There doesn't seem to be much to watch on the box tonight.

this creamed gunge, was apparently cous-cous (which I like) with bit of okra through it - positively vile. The macaroni pie was a square of macaroni cheese with peppers and celery through it. Bits of the meal were nice but it could all have done with a bit more spice!
Wish we'd gone to Coyoba instead!

We were invited to two 50ths (yes, gone are the days of 18ths, 21st and even 40ths

) on Friday, so had to go to both. Got to the first one 7.30 on the dot. We were the only ones there and had to leave just as it was hotting up. By the time we got to the second one they were all tired and emotional and had eaten all of the buffet except for the bits of limp lettuce so really we missed the best of both! Yesterday I went for 'lunch' with two ex colleagues - got home at 1.45am - oops!
