I guess I ... have no clue what you're talking about? I only have one of his albums.

I went to college with a Pamela Brown, a lovely but scatty girl. One day one of the tutors came round while we were working on our phantom heads and said "Miss Brown where is your fulcrum?"
"Oh dear" said Pamela "I must have left it in the cabinet"
She gave us quite a few laughs.

And, yes, you were very cute way back then!!

Edit - Of course TG had to go and delete her post before I posted this!!

It's from the LP Ice Water (1974)... a poignant little ditty in which he explains that if Pamela Brown hadn't given him he elbow when they were teenage lovers, then he might have settled down to a life of domestic bliss and never taken up the role of travelling guitar player and the endless success and happiness which that brought.
I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.

Bob Marley and the Wailers - Burnin'

In honour of Yvonne who is taking Towerbank P1-3 volunteers for music on a Thursday. They started last week with 'Hammer'. I don't seem to have that but this will do meantime.

indeed.

61 he was, I believe. That would have been interesting - would he have been like Bowie, getting stronger with age? Or more like, well, me?

When I see Paul McCartney murdering Beatles songs and Sting "featuring" whoever it is this week, I am glad that many classic rock stars are more challenged in the mortality department.

Rock bands should ideally split up or be dead by the third album. Certainly if the second is no good they should be sent to rock prison, on Alcatraz.

Not just old rock stars, Dadaist. Take, for example, James Blunt. He should be taken back to the army, court-marshalled for crimes against music, and shot.

Pink Floyd - "The Great Gig In The Sky"

Great instrumental track, although there's somebody in the background who sounds like she just stubbed her toe.

Yep. Marvellous. If you like stuff like early Pink Floyd, Syd Barret's solo albums, Kaleidoscope and other late 60s pastoral psychedelic stuff like ISB and Donovan etc, then you will definitely dig it. If not, you might still dig it.

Tell you what - watch your email...
