I'm back to work tomorrow so only a small glass of wine tonight to finish off the bottle  Unfortunately, we appear to have two boxes of the stuff untouched...........for now.

Similar here. For some mad reason we managed to order and take delivery of 2 cases of wine in the week between Christmas and New Year and now we have 24+ bottles sitting winking at us saying "how long was it you were not going to have a drink for???"

Damn, missed that one - that could have been another case ordered :D

No, I received a tempting email from Virgin and although I had told myself I would never use them again - it was just before Christmas and I was on-line after a drink or three.....never a good combination.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately :D ), wasn't aware that Sandra's quarterly order from Laithwaites was also on it's way!

Is your window box big enough  ? And only if you don't spill wine on the tarpaulin.

There is a glut of rosé wine right now and this may be why the French are drinking more rosé than white. I had always considered it to be a frivolous wine (think Mateus Rosé) but our Cote d'Azur holiday this summer was punctuated (and enhanced) by several examples of excellent quality and bon marché examples of the stuff. The Cotes de Provence carries a premium but there was plenty of local produce that was very glugable at less than £3 a bottle.

Not much of it seems to come our way, but I was very impressed with a rosé from SA, available at a heavily discounted price at Scotmid recently. If you can't find it in Porty, try their branch in Leith.

The bottle is Cape Rosé, Ha-de-Ha and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Cheers!

Gawd!! that ecm has been on a rose-ay binge for months now (can't do that acute thing).

I'm sure she'll have something to add - she usually does!!

Rose can be excellent wine and very easy drinking (not that I need an excuse)

I am now drinking fizzy mineral water - met a friend for lunch and had wine and several G&Ts.

S'easy. Ctrl + Alt + e. It's the circumflex that's the tricky bit!

In which case I'm sure you would enjoy the 12 yr old Glenfiddich Caoran Reserve, also discounted in Scotmid right now. (No, I'm not on a commission, but I'm beginning to think I should be!)

I keep checking past Morrisons to see if they have Ardbeg at a good price - last time I got it for £21 - should have bought a few! Great stuff.

Since that place has been done up it's fairly improved its beer selection - must be the best supermarket for beer now.

I had the first glass of my own black cherry wine last night. It was fantastic.

It took me a while to get into whisky, and then it took a while to get into peaty whisky, but Ardbeg *is* amazing stuff. I've only ever had a miniature that I bought at the Glenmorangie shop.

Wangi - do you like Laphroaig?

I don't have any whisky in the house at the moment, but I do have a 7 year-old Havana Club.

we have a whisky we bought when we were on honeymoon up north. It is one for the hardened drinker though (even too strong for me  even with water added ) - Royal Brackla 20 year old natural cask strength (59.8%). We'd had a 25 year old Royal Brackla which had been fabby but the former one is not as nice.

We also got Benromach 21 year old - aged in Hungarian Tokaji Wine Casks - very fruity and yummy :D (and finished unfortunately)

Sandra, what are you doing to yourself?! You started the bottle of gin at 10.43, now it's 11.17 and you've finished the gin and are onto a bottle of vodka. I don't know...

Both on the voddy now....and just put the toaster on

Hasten to add, before anyone calls the non-vehicular AA, that the gin and JD (Sainsbury's own bourbon actually!) only had a lil' drop in the bottom.
