I just spent the last day or so putting up the backing paper for neo-Dadaist's room - and apart from getting paste up my nose, everything has gone fine.

I have blunted a complete craft knife - one of those ones with an extensible blade that you can snap bits off - is there something wrong with my techinique?

Furniture and carpets are coming next week. I can't wait to get my settee back - and it's going to be odd walking on carpet....

i'm sure once the various animals and children have been scooped up from their temporary storage there may be a celebratory event, but until now we've been too busy getting central heating installed to think about housewarming. geddit.

I'm pretty much moved in myself as there have been diy tasks aplenty(*), plus an amount of dirt(**) to shift. Once we are unpacked and the carpets(***) are here, then the Important People(****) will move in, and a more Formal Announcement will be made.

(*) like ensuring Beach Babe's Broadband

(**) two bottles of Flash did the hard work, so I didn't have to

(***) wednesday

(****) including a very distinguished elderly feline gentleman

:?: I would just like to know whether you did ALL that on one Saturday..... sounded like six months of delicate negotiations and then finding the shop didn't sell what you wanted :?

well Emily and I took up residence in the new house yesterday afternoon :)

we had a lovely log fire to admire in the evening and Emily had a good long sleep in her new bedroom

so now we just need to get the Old Man Cat
I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship
