Porty is going to start looking suspiciously at all the female, dark redheads that come into his business!

It's looking pretty good though.
So, when's the grand opening then?
Will there be balloons, cake or cheese and that other stuff, y'know, wine?

That's me off the list then for sure!!
I couldn't be trusted to behave in an appropriate manner at all. What would be the point of that?

No problem at all. We have some lovely internal windows in the loos. Should provide the ideal lubricant for stubborn stools.
Actually in all seriouseness this is a bizarre building. Underneath the plasterboard its almost like a conservatory, it has at least 6 floor to ceiling arched windows, like the one in Play School. Most of the windows are now either covered or bricked up. It must have been lovely when it was first built. It has a chequered history, indeed I remember when it was a prize bingo joint.

was thinking could come in and spladoosh you...
Shop looks great though.
Have you got a new website yet? Seeing as the general opinion from forum members was not favourable but hey you don't need to take our opinions to heart or act on them.

It went fine and thank you for asking. Much of our business comes in over the telephone and internet. The shop is just a base really and any busiiness we do from P High Street will be a bonus. I just think its brilliant living and working in Portobello. in fact the only chance i get to escape is on here.
I look out in the morning and watch the bus loads of downtrodden Registar of Scotland workers drearily making their way into town with only the occassional spladoosh to keep their spirits up. (well I would look out on the morning and see them if I got here a bit earlier)

Glad to hear it's started well, Porty. I have to say, it looks attractive as an office. I like the style

Porty, on my teabreak today at the Registers [where Ali, ecm, Alex and I usually start working with eager smiles on our faces before you've even poured your muesli

] I had a quick look at your shop in our records - it seems to have been a furniture shop before being a bingo joint?

It seems to have been owned William Miller (House Furnishers) Ltd during the 60s and was flogged to the bingo folk in 1970. Before that I reckon it was rented, as the shop was not sold separately from the plot of ground on the corner of Regent Street until the late 50s/early 60s, so we don't know nothing about its use from our records.

Was in Woodware's garden bit out the back today - and Woodwares has the same brick "extension" with arched windows. I can only think that these windows were installed to give light to shops before 'lecky was invented?
