well, there's Schloer, it can look like a glass of wine.
Or I saw an non alcoholic ginger wine.

In extremes there is also water. I have heard people drink it.

And if you make it fizzy water it looks like a vodka and lemonade!
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Managed to go without alcohol since the New Year - first drink will be Friday 05 Feb making it a whole month on the wagon.

Mind you it is the 6 Nations and a trip to Wales coming up! 8)

I've never had a problem watching my weight. I'm one of those annoying people who can eat whatever they like and never put on an ounce. The downside of this is that I have never had to discipline myself to eat sensibly. People often assume that because I am slim that I must be fit and healthy, which has sadly not been the case for many decades, if ever.

However, as I approached 50 I had the classic mid-life crisis thing. I knew that I had to start doing regular exercise but I quickly found that I wasn't built for swimming and the gym was both boring and painful. Then I remembered that I loved football. I started playing on a Wednesday with some guys from my work. For the first few months I could barely walk between games but my fitness gradually began to improve. A couple of years on and this week I'm playing 5s Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm also fitting in a game of badminton and squash along with a few tortuous lengths of the pool.

Most of the guys I play football with are many years younger, fitter and stronger so it's a real challenge for me. Ironically, one of the advantages of not having done any exercise since I was a kid is that I haven't picked up the injuries that prevent many men my age from playing. My legs are still in mint condition - one careful owner! Even so, I know that my time left on the pitch is limited so I'm relishing every moment and playing each game like it was my last. The day I have to admit that I can no longer play football is going to be a very sad day indeed.
