Re: Happy Valentine's Day
A single red rode is pretty romantic Wangi and expensive! While Homer was picking up my flowers yesterday, a Polish guy came into the florists and was a mite shocked to discover that a single rose would set him back £3.50wangi wrote:He's the winner. My extravagance amounted to a wee rose.Marya wrote:Well Wangi? Any advance on that or is Bearcub the winner?
C'mon Sandra, don't keep us in suspenders. What was Nelson up to?

We had to bring Valentine's day forward a day as we had to attend a show the kids friends were in on Valentine's day itself.
Day before however we organised our kids to have a sleepover and we went for early dinner to the Kings Wark and then to Ocean Terminal to see a romcom movie (Music & Lyrics). I gave her a card and for a present an appointment to get her eyebrows 'threaded' (not a clue what this means but I had heard she was keen).

Offering to watch 'Music and Lyrics' is certainly beyond the call of duty PoP
Don't mention 'threading'. Brings back thoughts of last summer when I gave money to have my eybrows threaded on Portobello Prom (well, it was for Charity) and ended up with a large crowd all gawping at me and some very embarrassing livid red marks on my face for the rest of the afternoon.

She has not been yet as too busy with half term but I will get her to give me a full update and then pass it on. She has been very keen on threading since she saw how wonderful her friends eyebrows were. Personally I prefer watching the 6 Nations.SoupDragon wrote:Oh POP, so nice.
Now for THE question.
Where does eyebrow threading and how did it go?

Yes it would not really be my first choice film but very appropriate for the occassion and there were one or two good lines it. Hugh Grant did a brilliant job of playing Hugh Grant.Marya wrote:Offering to watch 'Music and Lyrics' is certainly beyond the call of duty PoP![]()

It was here!! but it was more to do with the concept than where to actually get it done....Sandra wrote:I vaguely remember someone doing eyebrow threading locally, I think they posted about it online too... it was a while ago.
It was the same bloke who did my threading on the Prom. He is Egyptian and married to a Scottish woman. They live in Colliesdene House and I did have his card but can't remember where I put it. He was very good but very enthusiastic. I didn't think I was that hairy until he wanted to do my cheeksPoppy wrote:It was here!! but it was more to do with the concept than where to actually get it done....Sandra wrote:I vaguely remember someone doing eyebrow threading locally, I think they posted about it online too... it was a while ago.
