There have been extended scientific studies on the effects of violence. Since we are on the topic of War, so to speak, Rand did a study that showed evidence that some young men prior to entering the war, as well as returning home after war, displayed signs of schizophrenia. John Nash, Jr. --mathematical genius, inventor of a theory of rational behavior was thought to have become schizophrenic as a result of his participation in the war. The stress caused an immense problem with the relationship he had with his wife who was pregnant. For example as adults, messed up men tend to inflict damage on their environment more than messed up women, think of domestic violence, sexual viloence etc. Growing up, messed up boy exhibits challenging behaviour, messed up girl self harms etc. These are obviously generalisations.Marguerite-the-Poet wrote: As far as women being 'more likely to hurt themselves', I'd need to know from you exactly the specifics before commenting at length though I must admit, none of the women I socialize with 'hurt' themselves including myself

Adults and children alike need to resolve conflicts and if at all possible avoid hostile environments. Those individuals who find themselves in war zones only have the hope of doing such at a future date. I do wish there was a ballot at the polls that gave us a choice to vote for PEACE. This isn't the case for we never know when we will be under attack nowadays so we rely on our community to bring us the peace of mind that will give us the strength to fight for those who are without peace in this world with hope that one day they too will have a degree of Peace, a better life with joy.
