I simply meant that men tend to externalise and women internalise. For example as adults, messed up men tend to inflict damage on their environment more than messed up women, think of domestic violence, sexual viloence etc. Growing up, messed up boy exhibits challenging behaviour, messed up girl self harms etc. These are obviously generalisations.
There have been extended scientific studies on the effects of violence. Since we are on the topic of War, so to speak, Rand did a study that showed evidence that some young men prior to entering the war, as well as returning home after war, displayed signs of schizophrenia. John Nash, Jr. --mathematical genius, inventor of a theory of rational behavior was thought to have become schizophrenic as a result of his participation in the war. The stress caused an immense problem with the relationship he had with his wife who was pregnant. Great book to read, A Beautiful Mind.

Emotional intelligence is in my opinion the key ingrediant necessary in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A balance hinged on peaceful negotiations in every venue sets our smiles free along with the sound of music. :)

Adults and children alike need to resolve conflicts and if at all possible avoid hostile environments. Those individuals who find themselves in war zones only have the hope of doing such at a future date. I do wish there was a ballot at the polls that gave us a choice to vote for PEACE. This isn't the case for we never know when we will be under attack nowadays so we rely on our community to bring us the peace of mind that will give us the strength to fight for those who are without peace in this world with hope that one day they too will have a degree of Peace, a better life with joy.

In the words of a famous song, "behind every great man, there has to be a great woman", so opposite could also be true that behind every evil man there has to be an evil woman......as it would be greedy to claim all the credit but accept none of the blame.

Society/history (and women) throughout the years have always put men in the hunter/gatherer role, which tends to need a more aggressive mindset, so is it men's genes that make us what we are or is it the role that we're expected to fulfil?

A recent phenomena in the UK, the so-called "lad-ette", suggests that if women get the same freedom as men to act as they wish (which should certainly be the case) and not as society in the past has expected them to act, then women tend to start acting more like men do in the same situations. May be a trivial comparison when it comes to who starts war, but I believe it shows that we're all a lot more similar than some think - and the way we act is maybe down more to the society we live in and the "rules" we live by then the difference in the sexes?

Anyway, one name should put all this man/woman talk to bed.......Maggie.

What experiences from his participation in the war contributed to his condition?

Bit of a contradiction there - loving the 007 feel and wanting "PEACE AND LOVE~" at the same time. Is Bond not a bit violent, misogynist and masculine for you?

I was strickly talking about the sound of the music Tom presented within LeithFM podcast 28 when I said, " ...it’s got a 007 feel...." You might have asked me before condemning me by your above comments. If you listened to Tom Fahey's selected tunes then you'd know without a doubt my intention. Dadaist, your imagination drifted far into the wrong field of appreciation intended and unfortunately missed the mark. Dadaist, perhaps you might be playing too many of those Internet War Games? I've never played them but have noticed those who do play war games on the Internet often are confrontational and bored with their life. Sad news but ... Listen!!! Thank You Tony :D

"We are the ally of the US not because they are powerful, but because we share their values." Speech to Foreign Office Conference, January 7, 2003

"Britain has never been a nation to hide at the back." Address to United Kingdom, March 30, 2003

"We the British are a people that stand by our friends in time of need, trial and tragedy, and we do so without hesitation now." Speech to Parliament, September 14, 2001

I love watching you on the tube in America when your doing your thing in Parliament! :) You are one of my heros.

Again, thank you Tony! I look forward to meeting you maybe one day.

Warmest regards and best wishes to you and yours,

Thank you, President Bush

Thank you for revealing to the world the gulf that exists between the decisions made by those in power and the wishes of the people. Thank you for making it clear that neither José María Aznar nor Tony Blair give the slightest weight to or show the slightest respect for the votes they received. Aznar is perfectly capable of ignoring the fact that 90% of Spaniards are against the war, and Blair is unmoved by the largest public demonstration to take place in England in the last thirty years.

Thank you, President Bush

You are deluded if you think that Bliar continues to command the respect or political support of a majority of the British people at this time.

Warmest Regards
