Er...Bob, what exactly did you do to the station clock?

I was up at five this morning, and heard the clock begin to chime. I thought it was odd because it's not supposed to start till later on, but thought it even more odd when it chimed eight times! I mentioned it to the other half who told me it's been chiming the wrong number of times for a while now. It seems to be three hours ahead (or nine behind)...

A few of my neighbours have asked me to let the powers that be know the Police Station clock is chiming through the night. The gremlin is on the loose. Started on Thursday night chiming on the hour at midnight. Then on Saturday it chimed 13 at 11pm. Now it seems to be chiming every couple of hours.

And at ten pm last night it only chimed twice. It's getting very confusing.

My wife swears it just tolled 13 times at 10 pm tonight. And I'm now getting complaints from neighbours about it via Lawrence Marshall. I'll speak to the clockmaker tomorrow morning.

The control box for the tolling mechanism has now been removed, so the bell will remain silent until the fault has been diagnosed and the box replaced.
