I'm new to this forum, just checking in to say hi. Will be supplying some Americana/alt-country shows soon. Happy do contribute in any way I can to RFP and glad that no one will be imposing their idea of musical quality on my selections. I know they're graet

Others may disagree but that's life. If I don't like someones selection I'll turn it off. If they don't like mine thay can do the same. Keep up the good work you all.

Discussion amongst the moderating team has led to a re-think over the RFP forum - if there is one it will link from the RFP site, not here - which is much more coherent if you think about it.

So station discussion will be staying put for the time being!

Looking forward to hearing some cool country sounds. I looked at your website and see you're a big Ryan Adams fan - hope your set includes his best song, and one of my favourite songs of all time, Everything I Do (I Do It For You)! A modern classic! It should still be number one in my opinion!

Actually, he has been in my Marlborough Street flat if you really wanted a local connection. Did I say Houston? Cripes, this week has really gone at my brain cells. He is from Austin.

Anyway, with the advent of electronic data transfer, mere geographical divisions are becoming less of an obstruction to getting nice sounds into nice ears.

Talking of Austin did I mention that I'm off to SxSW in March. And did I mention that I saw The Believers in Austin last year and that they are playing in Edinburgh on Friday 7th at Cabaret Voltaire

Hi Porty , never been lucky enough to see Ryan Adams but wish I had. Judging by your location sound s like you might be a Bruce fan, me too. Wish he would re-record Tunnel of Love without the 80s sound! The songs are great but the sound so 80s if you know what I mean! I know he never will but it's OK to hope.
