Whether or not cycling is officially allowed on the Prom isn't going to make a scrap of difference to the numbers of cyclists using it in my opinion, or how they use it for that matter. It is a rule that is not and cannot realistically be enforced. Therefore, it would make much more sense to allow cycling. At least then, the type of idiot that wangi had to endure this morning wouldn't have the excuse to be abusive.

Whether or not we allow responsible cycling on the Prom should be considered as a separate issue from how we deal with the small minority of cyclists who behave irresponsibly, and will continue to do so regardless.

If we blanked out the word cyclists in the above quote to give;

We now have a multi purpose statement that we can use for almost any topic. I must be getting old! :?

I quite often see a tractor on the prom, which I think is nice, as it makes me feel like i live on a farm and by the sea all rolled into one.

PoP, are you involved in the election campaign in some way? Seems a very familiar tactic, that one - are you the brains behind the latest tory/labour campaign (don't know which - can no longer tell the difference :wink: )?

I did wonder at lunch time if you or our good friend Porty was the mysterious Scottish businessman funding the LibDems and giving them a private jet for their urgent trips to Rochdale... :shock:

:twisted:

Sorry to disappoint you but I the only campaign I have been involved with is the one to market our own Business.

Do you think it will catch on? :roll:
