FAO Kellascat, A Porty hooker, glasga ned, whatever. This is a friendly forum. New members are always very welcome as long as they are prepared to adhere to the posting guidelines.
The administrators have decided that you are having a detrimental effect on the forum. We don't need flamers and troublemakers here. It might be a fun game to you but we don't appreciate it.
Please don't waste your time and ours by trying to re-register under different names. It won't work. I'm sure that you are already a member of other forums where this kind of behaviour is tolerated and you obviously get off on winding people up. Sorry, this isn't that kind of forum.

May I enquire: Whether Glesga Ned recieved a warning, either on or off board prior to his expulsion? I suspect he didn't and Admin probably felt there were just grounds. I would like to suggest a procedural tweak,
With Glesga there was an improvement or mollification in his posts from Kellascat onwards. If you get an unruly kid joining the class you dont just expel him straight away. I think the kid had potential.
I would like to request that in future a warning is issued, publicly and privately prior to a banning. I think a private PM or email is a difficult thing to ignore. If it is ignored then the case for expulsion is watertight.
Even If it is an extreme breach, then "people" should at least be given the chance for apology and remorse.
I do happen to think that Glesga deserves another chance, clearly warned, but will respect if admin feel that unacceptable. His breaches were not heinous. I basically believe he mis-judged the spirit of POL. I did that myself in the beginning.

The following is an agreed statement from the moderators. We would have posted as 'moderators' but we forgot the password.
Kellascat was banned, not because of his/her initial post, but because of one which was clearly in breach of guidelines and was most likely not seen by the majority of POL users. This post made it quite clear that Kellascat had no wish to continue as a forum member.
He/she also made attempts to re-register using email addresses we believe to be invalid, in itself a breach of POL guidelines. Publicly, Glasga was given a chance to moderate his/her style of posting, but when it became clear that this was a recently banned user we felt that it was unacceptable to let this user continue to post. It would seem that this is what he/she expected and perhaps wanted.
If the user in question would like to email us with an assurance that he/she will abide by forum guidelines in future, then we would be happy to re-consider. Our rehabilitation programme has had notable results in the past.
Yep, fair enough and thanks.
I presume (hopefully Im not not being too presumptious,) you are all in agreement with my "warning" proposal? Don't want to dwell on Glesga too much but he is obviouslu a Porty soul that now lives in a distant place. He probably doesn' t appreciate that this is not like an Internet chat room, many of us actually know each other. We have welcomed and nurtured unfortunates in the past, some of whom have gone on to be administrators.
Live and let live but show some respect.
